What is the weather like in the Dominican Republic, more specificaly, Puerto Plata in the begining of May?

What is the weather like in the Dominican Republic, more specificaly, Puerto Plata at the begining of May?
The wife and I are planning a trip and I just wanted to get an idea of what the weather would be like around that time of year.
I did look-up the weather, online, but got conflicting answers,so I'm looking to get some verification.

|Should be 84 to 90 both day and night and you can never tell about rain but it is a good bet that you will get some but have nice days.

Weather should be fine in May, for most of POP. Very sunny the past few years, not like the old days when it used to rain a lot in May.
